*RUSHAN AHSB
El Saleem x Rullante

On a spring day in 2006 when breeders John & Pat Cowan, CWM Farm of Wales welcomed a dazzling chestnut colt, it was no surprise that this young colt held a brilliant future. *Rushan AHSB was not the first of this cross, in fact he was the fourth foal from the Champion mare Rullante sired by El Saleem. *Rushan was an extraordinary youngster who was, from the moment he was born, absolutely dazzling.

1997 British National Champion Yearling colt
– with over a 100 colts in that class was split into 4 separate classes
1997 British National Champion Jr. Male
1997 SUPREME British National Champion
– placing over 2500 Purebred, Anglo’s and Part-bred’s

International judge and Olympic Trainer, Richard Mills said "At the end of the day, the only horse I wanted to take home with me was the yearling colt, *Rushan! What a splendid youngster! Incredible motion, superb conformation and a very sweet temperament! Yes, that is the kind of youngster that is welcome wherever he goes!"

*Rushan's pedigree reveals a great deal about his quality and ability as a tremendous sire. Every horse in the first 4 generations are champions. *Rushan's sire, El Saleem was Reserve British National Champion Stallion and British National Ridden Champion, who was reportedly a brilliant fox hunter! El Saleem was known for siring superb Hunter and Jumper horses, a trait known to be passed down for at least 2 generations -- *Rushan himself a 6 month old colt clearing a 5’ fence to return to his dam. *Rushan's dam, Rullante, British National Foal Champion the only time she was ever shown, was blessed with numerous offspring but even more exciting is that every one of her babies shown was a champion in multiple venues. Rusleem, (*Rushan's full brother) was also Res. British National Champion and British Ridden Horse of the Year, winning over all breeds at Wembly Stadium and presented with honors to Princess Anne in the late '90's! *Rushan's grandsire, Maleik El Kheil, by *El Shaklan and bred by Lodge Farm and the Maxwells was arguably *El Shaklan's most successful son winning British National Championship, Nations Cup, Swedish National Champion, and two times World Champion in Paris then going on to win in the Mid-East Championship when he was purchased by the United Arab Emirates.

Breeder John & Pat Cowen with health declining, new what they wanted for this young colt. *Rushan was imported in 1998 to the US by the late Gari Dill-Marlow who dearly cherished this beloved stallion, saying “He is bar none, the finest breeding stallion I’ve ever known”. Shown only a few times in the United States;

2010 Arabian Breeders World Cup - GOLD Stallion 12+yrs

An outstanding, reliable outcross stallion with no *Bask, Bey Shah, *Padron, *Ali Jamal or *Marwan breeding. *Rushan has been bred to a broad selection of bloodlines, Polish, Egyptian, Crabbet, Spanish and Russian related lines. *Rushan consistently brings out the best in every mare, while contributing the best of himself. *Rushan has proven himself time after time with a very limited number of foals shown. Every foal shown has been at least Champion at a Class A level in Halter and/or Sport Horse In-hand. Without doubt his most well-known son Antham has several Regional TF & a Canadian National TT in Halter.

The beauty and grace of *Rushan foals In-hand is not the end all…*Rushan foals are tremendous athletes!!! Not many stallions can boast that they have sired Regional/National foals in Halter AND get to be just as successful under saddle. Diamond Ruler L (2003-2013) was a remarkable gelding that had successfully completed all FIVE – 100 mile Endurance rides entered and has over 1800 recorded miles. Following in his footsteps is Rohan DHP (2006 gelding) that just started his career in 2013 completing several 30 & 50 miles rides. Antham with his stand-out chrome, has been done well in Western Pl and even started a brilliant Dressage career.

*Rushan himself while never shown under saddle is well broke and an absolute delight to ride under saddle. Having been trained under the careful eye of the talented trainer Joao Serra-Coelho of Los Acres (Training in the Art of Marialva). *Rushan's bright and charismatic personality on the ground is reflected by the same kind willing nature under saddle.

We are thrilled and honored to have *Rushan AHSB grace our property and as we offer him at stud, with great anticipation we look forward to his future foals. We are also deeply grateful to his breeders the Cowans, Gari Dill-Marlow for her expert knowledge and breeding wisdom and Maggie Bannerman for entrusting our dear *Rushan with us.

We welcome you to inquire on breeding to *Rushan or to make arrangements to come visit him in person.
